Akshay Kumar, Riteish Deshmukh and Abhisehk Bachchan’s presence at the Premier Badminton League title clash pulled capacity crowd to the Siri Fort Auditorium.
It is said that Bollywood celebrities are the best crowd pullers in India and there seemed little doubt in that when crowd came in hordes to fill the Siri Fort Auditorium in the Capital to ‘overcapacity’ during the Premier Badminton League (PBL) title clash between Delhi Acers and Mumbai Rockets on Sunday.
Though presence of a team from the Capital was one of the reasons why badminton fans turned up in huge numbers, but it was just one small factor as the same team’s home ties on January 7 and 8 had seen a lukewarm response by spectators as quite a lot of chairs were seen empty.
On Sunday, however, it was the news of a celebrity match involving actors Akshay Kumar, Riteish Deshmukh and Abhishek Bachchan and shuttlers PV Sindhu, Jwala Gutta and Ashwini Ponappa that seemed an encouragement factor for people to leave their comfort zone and come all the way to stadium.
